Seriously, according to this if everyone in the nation had been infected with BSE in the last few years there would be know reason any of us would know. A few months ago there was a report in the news that another infected cow had been found in Canada. You know that the detection rate of any monitoring system is never 100% and Americans consume hundreds of thousands of cows each year, so there must be some infected cows getting through. What real protection, besides not eating cows, are there to protect us from BSE?
(in Michigan all cows have to separated from exposure to deer with a fence that is at least 8 feet high)
What about Chronic Wasting Disease in deer, I don’t think that there is any epidemiological data for it in humans, yet people hunt in infected areas and eat the deer?site
