I registered, which took me a long time because I couldn’t come up with a user name that wasn’t already taken, but anyway, I finally get registered, get their e-mail saying I’m registered, and go to post my topic…and I can’t figure out how to do it! All I see are the reply and search options. I’ve e-mailed the administrators, “Help” was no help, and even considered going into someone else’s topic and asking, but didn’t want to do that. What’s the secret?
Though I have a Yahoo! account I have never posted on the message board so I snooped around a bit. I found a link for their message board “Create A Topic” help page which says:
To create a topic
[li]Choose a board for which you would like to create a topic. For example, to create a topic about healthy cooking, you would follow this path: Top > Health & Wellness > Fitness and Nutrition > Healthy Cooking[/li][li]Scroll down. If there is room for a new topic there will be a “Create A Topic” link on the bottom left side of the page.[/li][li]If you have not signed in, you will be prompted to do so. If you do not have a Yahoo! ID, you can register for free and then sign in.[/li][li]You will be sent to the Create a Topic page. Choose your identity, fill in the name of your topic, and type a message.[/li][li]Click the “Create Topic” button to add your topic to the board.
What if the board full? Each board has a limit on the number of topics that can exist at one time. If the “Create Topic” link does not appear, then the board has the maximum number of topics allowable.[/li]
If the board is full, you can:
[ul][li]Let us know[/li][li]Check back in a few days, when some of the topics may have expired.[/li][li]Create a topic on board with a related subject matter[/ul][/li]
I think the problem is you probably went to a board that was full, so the “Create A Topic” button wasn’t there. I had to look around for a board that still had room for a topic. Here is a board I found that wasn’t full and had a “Create A Topic” button.
Hope this helps.
Thats right, the board would have been full. But there is a person assigned to each board that can clear some up to make room for new topics.
Thanks guys. I don’t know how I missed that – I’ll try again (I still haven’t heard from the admin. people). And I just saw your replies – I didn’t get e-mail from the SDMB people that I had replies! (Guess I’d better go complain in ATMB.)
