How do you really feel about (insert band here)?

There are some bands and singers that are widely praised despite actually not being that great. It would practically be a sin, however, to point out how lame these performers really are, therefore many people just pretend to like them so as to look “cool” or “hip” or (in some cases) “intellectual.” I’ve been guilty of this sometimes, I’m sure I’m not the only one. But I’m going to say how I really feel now.

Radiohead pretty much sucks. They went from being “the band that sings ‘Creep’” to being “the most important band of the past 20 years/saviors of rock” and most of the praise heaped on them was totally ridiculous. Ok Computer was a great album and had some cool songs, Kid A was ok, but the albums after that sucked. The praise went to their heads and they got waaaay too self-important, while everyone else conveniently overlooked the fact that Radiohead wasn’t all that great because they were too busy trying to look cool by saying they liked Radiohead.
Bjork is awful. As in, like, really awful. Her singing voice is terrible, her music is boring, she herself is annoying, but everyone loves her. It would be better if we all just admitted to ourselves how lame she is.

Haven’t heard much about The Strokes lately (maybe they broke up?), but I couldn’t get over how shitty they were. Strangely enough, most of the people I came into contact several years ago with would talk about how great they were. Too bad all their songs sounded the same and they weren’t doing anything that any number of other, better bands weren’t doing. Spin called them “culture-shifting.” Are you kidding me? They didn’t shift a damn thing.

Honorable mention: Sonic Youth, The White Stripes, Kings of Leon, The Killers. All way, way overrated and not half as good as people pretend they are.
:::WHEW::: That was cathartic. I encourage you all to contribute something similar.
