I think I’m confusing ‘fictive’ with ‘fictional’, and that’s affecting my whole perception of this.
I’d call him ‘nephew’ rather than ‘godson’, unless you are actually in a Christian religious-mentoring kind of relationship with him. Or you could go with cousin… I have all sorts of ‘cousins’ with varying (if distant) relationships to me.
