You had to tell me about the Clack after Christmas, didn’t you??? Ugh! Now I’ll have to wait and wait and. . .well, probably just buy it for myself.
Is there a stateside URL for buying the Clack?
This is a must have! The Clack, that is.
I’d venture to say that most 'Murrikans have never even tried a soft boiled egg.
Personally, I don’t have the space for a lot of extra kitchen gadgets so egg cups are not a option for just the occasional breakfast item.
So when I do eat them, I usually just peel the shell off and pop it into my mouth in one or two bites. Yes, I am single. Why do you ask?
Alternatively, if I am making toast with them, I will lay the toast on a plate and lay the peeled eggs on top. Then I just use a knife and fork to get a bite of toasty-eggy-yolky yumminess. And I prefer Vegemite on my toast thanks.*
And that is how I eat my soft boiled eggs.
*Well maybe, I have never tried Marmite.
An egg cup and soldiers is exactly how I love my soft-boiled eggs (fresh-laid jumbos from the local egg ranch, pre-warmed to avoid crackage, and boiled 4 minutes exactly). However, Mr. brown thinks it’s a fussy, difficult way to eat an egg. He can’t master the decapitation technique. If I want soft-boiled eggs for breakfast, I must completely peel his for him and put it in a little bowl. Mine goes into a tacky souvenir egg-cup I bought in Alsace, and my buttered white toast gets cut into little thin strips as noted. Yum!
I take out three eggs, soft boil them, peel the shell off – then I throw the shit away and eat a steak.
