About 5 minutes, if I shave. Otherwise 3.
-Shampoo, rinse
-Conditioner
-Shave face
-Lather all over with shower gel
-Full body rinse
-Out

Closer to the first option. I usually have enough time to hum a song or two to myself and I’m done.
Often #1, but sometimes I’ll take longer (extra cleaning, or letting the hot water relax my back). I never drain all the hot water, though.
I don’t bathe as much as I used to. I can’t tie up the bathroom for that long with a wife and a teenaged daughter.
I can’t read a book in the shower, therefore I prefer to bathe (and I have a big’ol whirlpool bathtub, which makes it even better.
On the times I do shower (travel, mostly), it’s in and out in minimum time.
I’m between one and two, but I voted two because it’s closer. The hot water feels good on my muscles (I have some issues) so I get the most out of it that I can. Plus it’s one of the few times of the day that I’m actually alone so I kind of try to guard that - it’s my “off time” - I have to be pretty much “on and available for everyone else” the rest of the day.
The quick option, in clean and out. Then if I want anything further, I use the hot tub, I would like mrAru to add a sauna, but no luck there. Now if I could only get him to channel his inner Scandanavian/Finn…
You’re not showering properly unless you’re using a Simplex 5500 Advanced Water Droplet Formation Module.
Philistines.
I’m closer to option 2 than option 1. I love the steam to help my sinuses and asthma. Ahhhh.
Except for the last few days, which have been humid. Then it’s a cool shower, in and out fairly quickly.
Usually by the time I’ve washed and conditioned my hair, exfoliated my whole body, shaved and/or landscaped everything (I even shave my arms since I love how they glisten when I put on my body butter on afterwards), the hot water is usually all gone.
So how’s the pie?
Usually about ten minutes, unless I need to shave.
I had to wait a week or two while Ivylad replaced the hot water elements in the heater. I learned to take five minute showers then, but I didn’t like it.
Holy crap. I didn’t proofread that in time to edit. Apologies.
I hate when that happens.
I didn’t even know there was a correct way to have a shower? Just do the job and you’re all good
However, I agree that you should do it relatively quickly - if you want to spend a long time in the shower, you’re better off having a bath.
I wouldn’t say I exhaust the hot water, but I do value my alone time in the shower. It’s my highly-valued sanctuary from the noise of the family. I value it greatly.
Did I mention I value my shower time? I voted the second option.
I separate showers and baths by the amount of time I have to devote to the lavation exercise. Ergo, showers are for get clean and get going, while baths involve long leisurely soaks with good-smellin’ stuff, music, and sometimes candles. Heaven help he or she who disturbs this goddess in her bath.
Totally agree with you there - however I tend to go more for showers nowadays as they are quicker and give me more time to do other things!
My showers aren’t usually very long or very short, so I voted for the pie in the poll. Though sometimes I take longer showers in the winter because the shower’s the only place in the house that’s warm.
“Excluded middle?” That’s the only part of me I really wash!
Really fast. But sometimes twice a day.
Once in w while if my back/neck hurts I’ll use Olba’s and let the hot water pummel for five minutes.
I smoke and shave in the shower, so like 25-30 minutes. I often get accused of doing something else, “What are you doing in there? What are you, 13?” But I really just smoke, shave, and wash.
