What exactly is ‘fabric softener’, and how does it work?
I’ve been informed that if I put one of these sheets in the dryer along with my clothes, my laundry will emerge not only wrinkle-free, but the fabric will somehow become softer, as if by magic.
What is in these sheets that enables them to alter the physical properties of the fabric they come into contact with? Is there any proof of the claims made by the manufacturers of these products?
