I bought this stuff from Walmart. Seems harmelss enough, until I started reading the warnings:
For women only. (?)
Do not use on face.
There are more, but these are the ones that bother me.
Why women only? Is this stuff full of hormones or something?
And I’m guessing facial skin is hyper sensitive, but don’t lots of women have problems with facial hair?
It doesn’t smell bad. Doesn’t irritate my “bikini” area, even freshly shaved. And most things do!
Any info will be appreciated.
Um, is “it doesn’t work” the answer you wanted to hear?
See if you follow this.

So, you remove the hair first, by tweezing or waxing. Then you rub some stuff in. Then, when the hair grows back (not “if” but “when”), you remove it by tweezing or waxing, and you rub some stuff in. You keep doing this. If you keep it up, the hair that does grow back (note: “the hair that does grow back”) will be softer and finer.
However, the potion has nothing to do with it. You can get the same results just by repeated waxing or tweezing, without potions. If you keep it up, the hair that grows back (note: “the hair that grows back”) is a little bit softer and finer every time.
And finally:
So, ultimately, all they’re promising is that after waxing or tweezing every week for six months, possibly half your leg hair will not grow back. Big whoop–you don’t need to spend money on potions to have it do that.
This is different: Inhibicell is the brand name.
It claims to:
naturally weakens hair folicles at their root
hair will be thinner and more sparse within 7-10 days
re-growth will be dramatically reduced within 3-6 weeks.
Directions are to massage into desired area twice a day, morning and night.
I’ve been using it for about a week and I think that the hair IS easier to remove and I get less shaving irritation.
I still can’t figure out why it would be for women only…
Marketing. Just marketing, babe.

What does it say on the “Ingredients” list? I’ll look it up.
How much did you pay for this stuff? jergen’s makes a similar lotion that you just use every time you shower (or once a day, whichever you prefer…) and it does make the hair seem to grow back a little slower and softer and as a bonus it moisturizes your legs. And it has few warnings…
It’s only about $7 a bottle i believe. The stuff you’re describing seems like it’d be sold for $30 a bottle, and doesn’t last as long because you have to use it so much.
I paid about $5.00 for 5 ounces. Doesn’t take much as it spreads well.
DDG: Do you want me to list the ingredients or did you find them?
Any guess as to WHY they specifically state “For women only”?
After checking out DDG’s website, I’m even more confused.
The FAQ tells me I can put on makeup, right after I use it on my face, which the bottle warns me not to do, in english and spanish, no less!
And they do say it’s ok for men to use, in spite of the fact that “For women only” is the FIRST warning on the list!
Nah, I need the actual names of the ingredients, what it says on the side of the bottle, then I can look it up.
Then I’ll have a better idea why it says “women only”.
But my money’s still on some kind of “botanical” and those don’t matter which set of gonads the user has. I betting that it’s just marketing.
I’m such a cynic.
