How does Jo Sonja acrylic paint rank?

This is an offshoot of my thread on painting bisque* and figured I’d get a wider audience if the question was obvious from the thread title.

So, those of you who have used a variety of acrylic paints, how does Jo Sonja rank? Is it a cheapie type paint or pretty decent quality? If you’ve used it on bisque, even better, but I hope a good quality paint would be apparent even with many different uses.

Thank you.

It’s not the worst stuff in the world, but it ain’t great. The manufacturer calls it artist quality, but I wouldn’t.

I have used similar paint to this stuff on ceramic houses and was pleased. A thin consistency is actually a benefit because it will reduce the appearance of brush strokes. I wouldn’t paint a painting with it, but it should be fine for what you’re doing.

If you want really good paint, use Golden Fluid Acrylics or Liquitex Soft Body Acrylic.

Be sure to use a top-coat sealer, no matter what you do.

I use *Lascaux *acrylics . . . either the ones in tubes, or the less viscous “studio” paints. Other brands I’ve tried weren’t saturated enough.
