My gf and I were watching Olympic diving (men’s) over the weekend. What are they doing to get their bodies in that condition? They were all the same: extremely lean, but with a lot of muscle definition. When I work out, I get bigger, but more defined. I definitely don’t get smaller (body mass wise), even with running, though I suspect my diet may have something to do with that.
However, with diving, what are the skills involved? My guess is gymnastics (for all the tumbling and flexibility), core exercises, and strength training (but with a big emphasis on secondary and tertiary muscles like in gymnastics.)
But, gymnasts are huge compared to divers. When those guys were doing the handstand dives, I could not believe how small they could compress their waist line. I can probably shrink my waist maybe, 2 inches, but it looked like they were compressed to the spine. I have no intention on looking like that, but I’m just curious, how do they do it?
