I want to use the old Indi…, I mean, *Native American * term “pow-wow” in mixed company, in public.
Will strangers give me cold, mean stares while my friends wince or hide? And if they do, can I tell them to stuff it because “pow-wow” is “pee-see”???
Given that the Native American community itself uses it as a term for its gatherings you should be fine.
Second that. And some of them call themselves “Indians,” too.
You said Pow Wow and PC together. I thought you were talking about this.
If so, I would have rated it well back in the day. I used to use it all the time.
