How does Thoreau define unjust laws?

Not just what we should do about them. I’m working on a paper comparing legality to ethics and researching different definitions.

Is this a homework question then?

It is one small thing I want to include in my essay. I’ve read Civil Disobedience but can’t find a concrete definition. For example, MLK’s definition: “Any law that uplifts human personality is just. Any law that degrades human personality is unjust.”

This isn’t an assigned essay prompt if that is what you’re asking.

He doesn’t define it. Maybe he thought it’s self evident if you’re honest with yourself and in tune with the Oversoul.
