I was discussing with a friend last night the possibility of emmigrating out of England and into an English speaking country. We did think of America, but we’ve heard bad things about getting a visa and a green card(?).
So how hard is it to emmigrate to Canada?
Do I need to show a good reason why a Canadian company will want to employ me?
Well my Grandmother immigrated to Canada from Pommyland. Then she got sensible and came to NZ (no ACTUAL offence meant to Canadians) of course that was wayyyyyyyyy back in the '40’s when we were still pretending to be English.
From all I’ve heard, it’s hard!
I can’t give you good evidence, but I used to think anyone could home here until someone said it’s actually really hard and you have to wait a long time.
I don’t think that it is that difficult coming from another country in the Commonwelth. People from Hong Kong had little trouble moving to Canada, or Belize for that matter.
You need valuable skills or money to get on the fast track.
If you’re a handsome smoothie you can probably find a lonely Canadian women of modest charms to love you.
If you just want to move because you’re bored, it might be best to vacation there and get a feel for the flavor before you make the plunge. English ideas about what constitutes extreme weather are usually good for a hearty chuckle by Canadians and Americans.
Why leave England anyway? I’ve always wanted to vacation there, and maybe even live there for awhile. Is it really that bad there?
