How famous are you (or think you are)?

I am well known within the primitive archery world internationaly. Only becaue I wrote a chapter for a good selling archery book that was part of a series and a few well receieved articles. We are widespread but small, maybe 10,000 or so I would guess.

This picture made the front page of the sports section of a local newspaper back in 1983. I was driving the 74 car. They spelled my name wrong. It’s about as close to being famous I have ever been.

If you google my name, the first page has a trombonist. I’m nowhere near the first 5 pages and I gave up after that.

No one knows me…but you all will someday. Oh yesssss…

I’ve never heard of me.

I’m Angelina Jolie.

I’m super famous in the sense that I’m the one who comes up if you google my name. That’s just because I’m pretty much the only person in the world with my first/last name combination (though there may be a few of me in India who don’t have Internet access.)

Not the 72 car?

What do you mean, “oddly”?

[Insert evil, cackling laughter, here.]

Well, not millions – just dozens!

Thanks for the congrats. My days are generally at least partially “glorious”, at least in my own demented mind.

I have a writing credit on the IMDB.

I was a high school teacher for 26 years. Therefore, somewhere between 2000 and 3000 people were in my classes and probably would remember me if asked. Of course, their opinions of me would vary greatly!

I was part of the " Doing DaVinci" series on Discovery channel and had a few people recognise me as one of the characters. I built the giant bow that powered the catapult. One young lady insisted I come home to meet her 10 year old son who fell inlove with the show.

I am virtually unknown outside of my immediate work environment. I am becoming better known within the local dressage community, but you will never see me on the regional, national or international stage for any reason, horse-related or otherwise.

Like someone else said, I’d love to be rich but have no desire to be famous.

No, I’m Spartacus.

I chose “other” - a friend and I were the focus of an offbeat news story that got international attention and lasted for over a year. We had our figurative 15 minutes of fame; I don’t think anyone would recognize our names but when I bring up the story people have said “That was you? I heard about that!”

I’ve had the guys from KISS watch me play on stage… other than that, I got zip point nothing.

The first two Google hits are to me, on LinkedIn and Facebook. (The LinkedIn page is actually a list of people with my name, with me at the top of the list.) My MySpace account appears on page 6, and my name comes up on page 8 as the copyright holder of a photo I posted online.

Not famous.

I just goggled my RL name.

Mostly hits from the SDMB, a petition site, and the usual come-ons for address services.
No Facebook, etc, because I don’t use those sites.

Almost no web presence.

I’m quite well known among the English speaking community here in the Dominican Republic. I’d say 2000 people know my blogs.
