How far do you live from the nearest state (country) line?

About 40 miles to the Massachusetts border.

30-35 miles by road from the DC and Virginia lines.

When I lived in Bristol, VA, I worked in Bristol, TN. It’s all the same town, with the state line running through the center of town. So I lived just a few miles north of the state line, and worked maybe a quarter-mile south of the line.

About 50 yards inside Maryland from DC.

My hometown is 22 miles from the Ark & Louisiana border.

I often visit Texarkana and the border is downtown. Cross the street and you’re in Texas.

Six mile to Massachusetts, 18 to Connecticut (as the crow flies). I live in RI.

Roughly 40 miles to the RI line going south.

Roughly 40 miles to the NH line going north.

Can you tell I’m equidistant?

About 360 km (225 miles) by road to the nearest state border, which is with the Jervis Bay Territory.

No matter how far I drive, I can’t get to an international border: to get to another country, I need to take a boat or a plane. The nearest foreign country is part of France (New Caledonia).

It’s about 100 miles by highway from here to Nevada; it’s slightly less as the crow flies.

I measured the 1/2 mile distand to a house like that. Besides old houses built in random spots, there have been a number of changes to the border over the years that ran the line through more recently built structures. In some areas people are confused about which state they live in, leading to humorous incidents at the DMV and polling places.

About 25 miles south of the Massachusetts border.

… the house I grew up in was a bit more fun, about half a mile from the Rhode Island border and maybe a mile and a half from the Mass border.

About 4.5 miles to the county line and 150.5 miles to the state line near Lake Tahoe.
Quickest route out of the country would be 12 miles west to international waters right? Since I don’t have a boat, the next choice is 474 miles to Tijuana or 800 miles to Vancouver.

I would prefer to head north as I have a slightly better chance of understanding Canadians than Mexicans.

I live in Central Texas so, suffice to say, it’s a fur piece.

15 miles from Illinois by road, somewhat less as the crow flies.

BTW, what is the point of this thread?

A thread in IMHO has to have a point?

I can be in GA in under 3 hours if there’s no traffic jam.

24 km from Russia. Used to live 6 km from the border, and had a friend who lived so close that if you missed a turn, you ended up at the border zone instead. Only been there once, though, and didn’t much care for the tiny part I saw of the country.

In MA. I’m about 5 minutes from the nearest CT border and about 30 minutes from RI.

About 300 miles from the Nevada state line.

I’m about 30ish minutes from Texas to my dismay and about an hour from Mexico, to my even worse dismay.

The OP is a serial killer triangulating on all of us.
