As long as he doesn’t talk with his ass cheeks I can probably deal with it.
Sunny knows a lot more than that.
Lots of things she says are innuendo - like “Procto!” which meant something like, “I wonder if this cave has another end?”
Of course, most things she says are in-jokes, whether off-color or not.
In the Grim Grotto,
They each find a group of items at the beach. One of them finds a (the?) Rosetta Stone. I think that there was an oblique reference to other famous artifacts for the other two but wasn’t certain.
Anyone know notice what they were?
The movie does indeed cover the first three books. At Target today, I saw the first three books with new Jim Carrey dust covers. Worried, I was relieved to find the original covers underneath the dust jackets. But yes, elements from the Bad Beginning, Reptile Room, and Wide Window are all in the first.
I’m still not sure how the movie will compare to the books, since the best part of the books isn’t the story, but Lemony’s narrations, and I’m sure there won’t be enough Jude Law segments to cover that.
I was at Costco this afternoon to pick up some supplies for work. I checked, and they had the books sold in groups of three, through the ninth book. Each set was $21.99. That’s about $11 off of retail and a couple of bucks less than Amazon. I may grab some or I may wait until after Christmas and see if they discount them further.
BTW, what’s the next installment called?
