Which mutual fund do you have and how has it performed over the past 10 years? What percentage of ROI have you gotten?
Guinness Atkinson Alternative Energy GAAEX 12.09% last year alone. I’ll keep a heavy eye on that one (it’s a natural resource fund). Jenson and Vanguard have done very well over the last several years for us…so I’d look into those as well.
We had our quarterly IRA meeting at work a few weeks ago and the Oppenheimer Active Allocation Fund was up 13.9% for the last 12 months.
Four or five years ago, My longtime insurance agent retired. the young man tht took over his clients had a meeting with us. There was $1497.00 sitting in uncollected dividends. The new guy suggested that I put it into a Roth IRA, available from the insurance company. Since it was like finding money on teh sidewalk, I looked over the portfolio and selected the most aggressive of the choices. (S&P 500 index fund Legacy B SLIBX) Since then, it has almost doubled.
