I’m betting the household income of the family in Black-ish is definitely over $300,000 and probably closer to $400,000.

What do you base this assumption on? Not saying you’re incorrect, I am simply trying to understand your thought process. However, even taking this into consideration, $400K in household income does not equate to rich, at least not in my neck of the woods. Please don’t misunderstand, $400K is a wonderful income; I don’t make anywhere near it and wish I did, but it would take more than this for me to consider myself rich, and I am no spendthrift.

I suppose it’s an age thing that will be lost on younger generations, but… I did a spit take when the Halloween episode of BLACK-ISH was was announced as part of Spooktacular Wednesday.

I don’t know I’m in my late 30’s, in Alabama, and unless someone points it out that kind of stuff usually goes right by me.

Their jobs. The guy is a VP of a major advertising company, large enough to land the City of LA account. He’s making really good money. She’s likely a surgeon, which pays more than $150k at any rate.
