This.
it works just as it’s advertised: you get the results the person before you searched for.
If you mean what the point is, well it’s to make the person who owns it some money from the ads on the side and hopefully amuse the people who visit it.
Using “I’m feeling lucky” is like an unfiltered StumbleUpon.
“what is this?” the first time returned a message above the search box “This is Mystery Google.”
“hello” returns “Hi.”
“” returned once “Please don’t type gibberish.” I think, I missed part of it. ETA: got it
Well so much for my night…
What the last person on mystery google searched for or what the last person on regular google searched for?
This is all I get:
Is there any reason you can think of for them not to redirect me, or at least give me a flippin’ link?
I just typed in “what is mystery google?” which is supposed to bring up a message saying “that is the page you are on”.
Instead I got a page of search results for “giant cock rings”.
I get this:
Error: Can’t connect to local MySQL server through socket ‘/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock’ (2)
Mysterious.
I got the "please don’t type gibberish " message too, so I then typed “gibberish” and it said “well aren’t you clever”
That’s what I get. The plot thickens.
Okay, I just did the “I’m Feeling Lucky” option and I got a picture of the sheet music for “I Love Little Pussy”. If the last person who used it had typed in “pussy” wouldn’t I have gotten a list of porn sites? I don’t get it.
How come sometimes it talks to you and sometimes it doens’t?
This is because their IP address changed, not their hostname. Meaning they can’t redirect you anywhere, because you already tried to use the URL you were supposed to, but your DNS lookup gave the old IP address. The site can’t do anything about that.
At least that’s my interpretation.
I typed “google.”
“No. Mystery Google.”
So I typed “mystery google.”
“That is the site you are on.”
I don’t know why, but it made me lol.
This is hilarious.
Last time I checked, you could link directly to IP addresses.
Yeah, I suppose. I can think of some reasons why one wouldn’t want to, even “temporarily”, but no point in hijacking this thread over it.
It’s kind of like throwing a message in a bottle out to sea.
Likely a gimick to get you to click on the ad at the bottom of the page
I am also getting the DNS error. Help please?
I just ruined so many people’s day.
Also, my last search was “The Game”.
