Some of you may remember the ads for Ricola cough drops back around the early 90’s; they had the alpenhornists playing away (maybe someone could describe why this is done as well?) when all of a sudden that guy gets a cough, gets a Ricola, another guy yells out ‘riiii-COOOOOHHH-laaaa’ (rhymes with ‘Victrola’), chyron on screen, yadda yadda the end.
Well, the last time I saw one of these commercials, the guy yelled out ‘RIIIIIII-co-Laaaaaaa’, stressing the first syllable. Is this the way to pronounce it? Was it corrected after all these years, or is it something else?
