How Is The Weather Looking Where You Plan To Watch The Eclipse?

We’re gonna have hurricanes and earthquakes! Don’t come here! Really! Stay away!

The predictors are saying a million people are coming to Orygun to see the eclipse.
The traffic around here is bad enough already. :dubious: (of course, they predicted hillary would win too.)

We’ll probably just walk to the cultural center down the block. (big open area without trees)
Prediction is for 86 and sunny.

But we could still have that earthquake!
Stay home!

Gonna be a cool, clear morning in Rigby, Idaho.

Update:

[QUOTE=NWS]
A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Partly sunny, with a high near 79

Since the eclipse is at 11:33 AM local time, hopefully the bad stuff will wait.

“Periods of sun with a T-storm.”

Oh well, I have to try anyway.

Back in 1991 we had an annular in Southern California, but the clouds rolled in just before it was supposed to happen. There we were at Palisades Park in Santa Monica with all the other eager spectators, and–nothing! A few people were still wandering through the crowd with handfuls of eclipse shades they were trying to sell, rather ironically. A sad and surreal scene.

85 degrees and sunny in Denver. 92% coverage.

Although we are not in the path of totality, it is curious how Monday’s prediction of a bright sunny day with no clouds stands out in a 7 day forecast of rainy and cloudy weather: Montréal, QC - 7 Day Forecast - Environment Canada. Even partial eclipses are fun. We had a nearly annular one maybe 20 years (it was actually annular 100 miles south of Montreal) and it was fun to see the gaps in the leaves acting as pinhole cameras.

For a 2012 partial I was casually in California on those dates and at Venice Beach the cloud cover was juuuust enough that it provided a natural filter through which you could see looking with the naked eye.

Monday here in SJ in the partial path it is supposed to be showery.

Now forcast to be mostly sunny

Shaniko Oregon is sunny with a balmy 75 during the darkness. Hopefully forest fire smoke isn’t going to be too bad. Or forest fires for that matter.

We will see if my sneaky plan to drive down central Washington and then the 2 lane highway to Shaniko is going to avoid gridlock
