“Not Guilty” and “Factually Innocent” are legally two different concepts. To get “not guilty”, you must only prove reasonable doubt to your guilt.
To get wrongful imprisonment compensation, you have to demonstrate “actual innocence”, with strong evidence such as DNA of the true offender, or another individual being convicted of the crime.
