What “thinly disguised agenda”?
If you wish to make an allegation of racism or bigotry - a pretty fucking serious allegation - then you need to report the OP to a moderator, or Pit the OP.
NOT make (false) accusations in an inappropriate forum.

xash,
My apologies. My remarks were tongue-in-cheek and not intended to offend, but rather to reflect in a satirical manner some concern about an apparently serious situation, maybe to see it in a different light. Still, they are out of place and unsolicited; they should be under MPSIMS or IMHO, rather than GQ. Again, I apologize to all.
As far as warranting banishment without hesitation, I hope there’s no need for all that. It’s just a misunderstanding on my part. I do understand that rule enforcement in a private forum like this is not ‘thought police’ or censorship as many believe, so the 1st Amendment doesn’t apply. Rather, common sense dictates what things should be permissible speech and what shouldn’t, with the moderators having the final say; and in fact, this site is more generous than most in that regard. Of course you can’t go off on anti-Semitic or racist diatribes, make ad hominem attacks, threats, directions on bomb-making or the joy of date rape, etc. But gee whiz, there’s threads with everything from exploding bodies, pan-frying and eating semen, cunnilingus and assailing Christianity & its “fundies” to defamatory remarks about the President and USA in general, eating feces, and every word that has ever been considered obscene or profane. In short, many things that to many people would be highly offensive but did not officially earn that label on the SDMB.
Mine did, and I honestly don’t know how. Obviously it’s not something simplistic like ‘certain religions are off limits while others are OK to tackle,’ or that the remarks used sarcasm, irony and exaggeration as part of the satirical treatment. So in order not to abuse the remarkable freedom of expression tolerated here, I would like to humbly request some clarification about how to cover this particular hot topic within the rules, in case it comes up in the future.
Thanks in advance for your help; again, sorry for my confusion
h
