How man7 arms/legs do I have?

I know this is a really stupid question, but do I have an eight to eight arms to legs ratio, or do I have something that is equal to an eight to eight arms to legs ratio, but not necessarily eight to eight?

This question intrigues me

Since ratios are usually simplified, you (and most people) have a 1:1 arms-to-legs ratio.

Too much strong chemicals, or too little?

The eternal puzzle…

But isn’t it a ratio of two to two, since I have two arms and two legs?

2:2 can also be written 2/2. 2/2 = 1.

I want to know where the “eight” came from.

This sounds like something out of The Fly, at least judging by the title.

A ratio is normally written in it’s reduced form. You can write it 8:8 if you like, but the normal notation would be 1:1.

Unless 8 is only divisible by itself in the OP’s universe, of course.

In order to know what your arms to legs ratio is, we would first have to know how many arms and legs you have. I am curious myself.

Remember, the average number of arms per capita in this country is slightly under two.

The same is true for legs.

In this context, “per capita” made me laugh like a loon.

Is the 7 in the thread title a clue?

Unusual to get a spider actually posting here.

Perhaps copperwindow is relaying a question seen written in a spider web.

Do octopusses think of their appendages as arms or legs?

I wonder.

What if they’re hentei octopuses?

I cannot tell you how many sleepless nights I have spent, pondering this very question…

And testicles.
