How many believe in Creationism: Fundamentalist islamic country.

In Swedish newspapers there are often numbers that are supposed to tell us how many percent of the citizens of the USA that believe in Creationism (God created man in present form )
The number is usually around 45%.

ANd finding thoose numbers for western Countries are easy

But what about the “other” faith.
How many believe in Creationism or Genesis or whatever you want to call it in a fundamentalist islam state like say Iran.

Google while helpful is failing to give me numbers.

I would imagine those in Iran or Pakistan who don’t believe in the Koran might choose to be less than vocal about it, so that would probably skew the survey results beyond the point of any statistic usability.

Generically it seems the historic position in Islam has been flexability on science. Literal hard core American style Young Earth creationism seems to be pretty rare among Muslims. Quran is somewhat vague, so I think your speculation is a bit off base.

Fundamentalist Islamic monarchies and dictatorships tend to be unfriendly toward public opinion surveys of their population, especially on matters relating to religion.

Dictatorships period, so we’re not really answering a question there, are we, just hand waving and IMHO factless non-answers. I seem to recall a Pew Survey touching on this, but can’t find it.

Anyway, the factual answer is historically the Islamic world has not seen Science as going Head to Head with Religion, and hasn’t had Young Earth Creationism, etc. Impressionistically most Muslims seem to be vague sort of God + Evolution types.

Not 100% on point, but here Religious Groups’ Official Positions on Stem Cell Research | Pew Research Center some note on the consensus view among Islamic scholars on Stem Cell Research, where the opinion is effectively pro-science.

Until someone finds the Pew or other survey, perhaps we can skip IMHO baseless answers?
