I have been to Lubbock, Texas, the chrysanthemum capital of the world.
I haven’t even been to the capital of two states I’ve lived in, including the one I live in now. My sad total:
US: capitals of NH, VT, NY, PA, MD, OH, MI, IL, IN, MN, CO, GA, TX, plus DC
Elsewhere: capitals of Ontario, UK, Scotland, Wales, France, Catalonia, and Valencian Community. And that’s it.
Canadian provincial capitals: Victoria, Edmonton, Regina, Winnipeg, Toronto, Quebec City, Fredericton, Charlottetown, Halifax
U.S. state capitals: Montgomery, Denver, Honolulu, Boston, St. Paul, Salt Lake City, Cheyenne (I think there are some other southern capitals I’ve been to when I was very young, but I don’t remember)
Chinese provincial capitals: Nanjing, Hangzhou, Guangzhou (and the special regions of Hong Kong, Macau and Shanghai)
National capitals: Ottawa, Washington D.C., London, Paris, Rome, Beijing, Nassau,
I’ve stayed in Macau and Hong Kong too but wasn’t sure how to mention them. Shanghai too.
The only capital I have visited was Washington DC 10 years ago.
An update to my previous list:
I’ve been to Tokyo since August (not to mention the capitals of Kyoto prefecture and Osaka prefecture).
I’ve added Panama City to my list.
I filled out most of my list during two trips: a month-long tour of Europe when I was in high school, and a cross-county (USA) driving trip last year.
