How many Dopers had a Jesuit Education?

You went to a more prestigious law school, I went to humble University of San Francisco. I feel very much at home whenever I stop by, but a quarter century later, very few of my professors remain. My ethics prof was a Jesuit priest and the school general counsel, and my property professor was a former priest (left to marry), not sure which order, but probably a Jesuit. Many of the faculty were practicing Catholics, but many were not, a number were Jewish. Many members of the faculty were non-closeted gays, but didn’t discuss it. The students came from a variety of religious and educational backgrounds, and we are all friendly still.

Based on how strong the rivalry was in high school, this is just too funny to me.
Even though high school was 20 years ago, I can’t imagine showing up in a Christian Brothers Education Thread saying “I went to a Jesuit school, does that count?” I’d be afraid St. Ignatius would materialize behind me and slap the back of my head.

There was one homecoming football game against the Christian Brothers school. We were getting our asses handed to us with no hope of turning the game around. Someone started the crowd chanting:
CHRIS-tian BRO-thers CAN’T-SAY-MASS!
CHRIS-tian BRO-thers CAN’T-SAY-MASS!

As a mature adult, I want to say welcome to the thread but the high school me just wants to say “You suck!” :stuck_out_tongue:
(at any rate, I don’t think you should count yourselves in the poll but your perspective and stories will be appreciated)

Not at all. Eight years of Dominican nuns instead. Gave the Jesuits some serious thought, though. Can you imagine me as “Father dropzone, one of the Vatican’s Marines?” Neither can I.

Jesuit HS and college, late 60s, early 70s. I heard “Jeb” once in a while, which was often enough not to be confused at by Johanna’s use here.

I got in through the Georgetown clause so neener.

For sure, but the question mark in your post followed your high school credentials. “I don’t think you should count yourselves in the poll” for the high school option.

Which I didn’t. Are we good, Clay?
