Thirty minutes each way, same as OP. I live in a largely rural state(VT) so that’s actually not too bad, plus the drive is pleasant (lake & river views, lotsa fields and trees, etc.) Other than the cost of gas, I can’t complain. I’d certainly rather work closer to home, but these days a stable reliable job is gold, IMHO.
Right around 1 hr a day. So 5-6 hrs, depending on my work schedule.
I work offshore… so my traveling to/from work goes like…
- 30 minute ride to the airport
- 1 hour flight
- 2 hour bus ride to the port
This happens once every 4 weeks, which averages out to 0.875 hours of traveling per week, or 7.5 minutes per day if you spread that out over the whole 28 days.
Zero. But my daily commute is a groggy walk from my bedroom to the room with a bunch of computers in it.
This month still twice a half an hour per day. Starting May 1st, my commute is reduced to 10 seconds - we are opening a shop inside our new house.
20-30 minutes each way, depending on the timing of the lights and if it takes a long time to drop off the laxette at day care.
My commute is about 7m by bike (as often as possible) or by car (if it’s raining or I need to go somewhere after work). I’m shocked that actually adds up to more an than an hour: that’s not much, but it’s not the bottom of the poll And I am extremely grateful I do not have to spend more time commuting!
I am wondering if any of the “less than half an hour” votes are for “more than zero”. I guess some people do have a three minute drive, but it’s not practical to cycle or walk. But how many?
It’s three hours drive each way, so I live in my sailboat monday to thursday, and that’s only ten minutes from work. Fridays and some mondays I work from home. So, 6 hours drive per week, although I often take the bus instead of the car.
No driving at all. 20+ hours by public transport but part of those journeys involve a detour to preschool to drop off/pick up the child, which adds a signficant chunk of time over a week.
Considering my campus is so large it would be difficult to live closer than 5 minutes from my work, but even if I did I would still drive as it is impractical to walk to work and still take a nap once you get home for lunch
1.5 hour return trip averaging 3 days work per week so about 4.5 hours driving.
Not driving, but it takes me 1.5 hours each way, four days a week, so 12 hours. That’s a 30min bike ride plus 35min train ride plus 25min bike ride.
Zero, because I walk to work.
Takes about 8 minutes to get to work from my apartment.
zero… it’s about a 40-foot walk and up one flight of stairs
