Same here, though I’m not positive how many eschappe I can do, either. When I got up to try, the cats swarmed and it got dangerous to try to jump.
I’m guessing a few hundred wouldn’t be a problem now. I’m pretty sure when I was, say, 30 I could have gone over a thousand.
That seems right…
We used 8-count bodybuilder." Sometimes you’d get some sadistic SOB leading PT and called for 12-count ones…
I haven’t done them in years, but I tried just now and had to stop at 52.
congratulations! one of the few people do to what I asked in my OP: don’t guess, try. are you surprised by your result?
Pman you get a zero for guessing
Burpees differ from Squat Thrusts as there is no weight, and you go chest down in a push up.
Jumping Jacks are dead easy. I never found them hard, just kind of tedious. Burpees, on the other hand…ugh…
Just closed the office door, emptied my pockets and did 50 at work. In dress pants and shoes. Didn’t time it, but couldn’t have taken more than a couple of minutes. Wasn’t a big deal, but if I had kept up that pace for 100 I would have felt it. Posting now, right after, my pulse is barely elevated. I’m sure I could do 200 if I tried to - probably more. And, if I practiced, could quickly get up past 1000. Not a big workout, just some slightly different muscles.
I used to HATE burpees, but I really hate push-ups as well. Recently worked up to sets of 50 push-ups. Still dislike them.
56 yrs old, in relatively decent shape. Regularly bike 26 miles/swim 1/2 mile. Multiple knee/ankle/foot surgeries.
Thanks, and yes, I was surprised; thought I’d have to stop before thirty. And I think if I’d pushed I could have made it to sixty.
I just did 100 in about a minute and a half. A little breathy and my heart rate is in the aerobic range. Mostly decided to stop because my calves were pretty burn-y. Probably had a few more in me but as I said above, don’t want to get hurt.
now we are moving!
When you close the office door, jump around making noise for a few minutes, then reemerge from your office slightly dishelved, perspiring, well that’s how office rumors begin.
I pride myself on regularly going for walks to keep my fitness up. Except through winter that usually slows down. And before that I was very busy for a whole year and didn’t get many chances to get out much. And the weather’s been so unpredictable even in the nice seasons. And other excuses that mean, when I went for a basic 20 minute walk to the local shopping centre last week, I was so completely exhausted I had to sit down twice before walking back home again.
I am so totally out of “shape”* that I’m not going to even attempt jumping jacks.
I hope I can get my fitness back up again over summer, but I am days away from turning 48, I’m no spring chicken anymore, and I may be reaching limits.
*Never actually been in shape, currently just barely this side of pudgy
