How many millionaires have been executed for murder?

All those horror stories coming out about innocent people being sent off to death row got me thinking: How many millionaires have been convicted of murder one, of that number, how many have been executed?

I think you need to expand that question a bit first, because, I believe, you’ll find that fewer millionaires commit murder.

To make this question meaningful, you need the following data:

How many sub-millionaires are there?
How many are charged with murder?
How many are convicted in states with the death penalty?
And, lastly, how many are executed?

Then, follow through with the same questions for millionaires. I think you’ll find that, with a few notable exceptions, very few millionaires even commit murder.

Does anyone remember Bob Dylan’s protest song “The Lonesome Death of Hattie Carroll”? It’s a true story. She was a poor black waitress in a Baltimore hotel. William Zanzinger was a rich white landowner of Maryland. He was at a party where she worked and for no reason beat her to death with his cane.

He got a six-month sentence.
