I hate my job. Been toying with the idea of leaving for a while now, but unfortunately, the bills do not go away.
My job would actually be kinda cool except for management thinks only the top three people in charge know anything. I am left to live with their decisions even though I have a higher degree than two of them… I’m not sure why they bother to have a research and development person if they still have to decide every experiment and plan out everything themselves. But then again, we have more management people than actual workers so go figure!
Good news is I have a job interview next week! Still not doing what I went to school for, but it’s away from this joint! And it’s real science work which I am not doing any of now.
Now if I could only find something in the forensic science field… Life would be good. Help…
I’m in rental property management. I hate my job the first week of every month, when I have to do about 50% of it. The rest of the month, I’m contented. I get free Internet. The pay isn’t great, but I do get overtime most months.
Love my job. Well maybe not love it, but I find it challeging, varied, rewarding, the pay is good, and its not too stressful. I like the people I work with well enough to work with them without breaking out in a rash.
I do Systems Administration on directories (NDS, iPlanet, Active Directory), some OS Sys Admin duties, IT process analysis work and systems architecture. My boss thinks I walk on water (don’t look down, its a sheet of plexiglass cleverly concealed a 1/4 inch deep).
It could get better, but I think I’ve got it darn good.
I like my job. I’m a technical editor/Dealer Support Services rep. I used to be a cabintemaker, then I started doing kitchen and bath design.
The problem with thoase jobs were that they involved high amounts of sales. I HATE sales. In this job I get to do the design consultation, I am the go to guy for technical questions which I like doing because it’s creative, and I get a great deal of satisfaction editing plans and orders and finding ways to save the designers and salespeople money!
As my profile is known to my employers and I wish to work here for a looong time, I have decided not to explain the downsides of my job. Suffice it to say they are definitely manageable.
