How Many People Visit Campobello Island These Days? (FDR's Summer Home)

I was looking at an old magazine, at an article about FDR’s summer home-which is on the remote island of Campobello-it is actually in Canada.
I know that Americans are big on maintaining former president’s homes as museums.
But given the remoteness in time of FDR (he’s been dead for 65 years), how many people would undertake a trip to such a remote place?
Anyway, has any Doper ever been there? And are there records of the attendence by year?
I wonder how long this place wil be maintained-surely few young people know who FDR was.

And don’t call me Shirley.

My wife and I were there last week. Visiting the Roosevelt cottage wasn’t a major destination in itself, but was among several interesting and enjoyable parts of our trip. (Other parts included eating lobster, seeing the Maine coast, eating lobster, checking out intriguing small towns, eating lobster, visiting lighthouses, eating lobster, tent camping at a provincial park on Campobello Island, eating blueberries, and eating lobster.) That part of Maine and New Brunswick is lovely country – just being there is a delight. Seeing the Roosevelt cottage adds an interesting diversion to it.

I was there as a kid…maybe 1964 or …on family vacation to Maine. Don’t remember much about it.
