How many punch cards do you have/use?

Yes, the pervasive punch cards…How many of these suckers are stuffing your wallet? Do you use them? Fill them and get your free thing?

I have:
Thacker berries (strawberries–need six more punches)
A coffee place at my campus/workplace --need seven more punches
Radio Shack batteries–I only have a couple of punches; I don’t usually go there
AMC Moviewatcher card–not a punch card, but if I buy two more tickets, I’ll get something free—I can’t remember where I am in the cycle o’ freebies

Starbucks
Sticks Kabob Shop

I think that’s it. Used to have Subway, too, but I haven’t been in a while. I don’t accept them if I really don’t think I’ll use them.

Man, I thought this was gonna be an old-school programmer’s thread…

Me too. What the heck are these now punchcards?

I have cards for:

Carlton Cards, half full
Yves Rocher, half full
School cafeteria coffee card - 2 full ones soon to be exchanged for caffeine and one new one with 2 punches out of 8 gone.

There was a time when I had punch cards for 6 different coffee places in my wallet.

Not a one. Very few places around here offer them and I never seem to get back to the places that do, often enough for them to do me any good.

I feel deprived and vaguely un-American.

I have 3:
Santa Barbara Sandwich Co.
Los Arroyos (Mexican place)
Aldo’s (Italian place)

I just got a free sandwich the other day, and I’m one burrito away from a free meal.

None. I have too much junk in my wallet as it is. Also, I won’t get the discount cards from the grocery stores. Hate them as well. If they wanted my business, they would give me the discount as a matter of course. (Actually, most times they do, since they usually use the store card.)

I have a punch card for the local FBO (that’s “place where you rent airplanes”). For every ten hours I rent an airplane I get to fly it for one hour free.

Glad to know I’m not the only one

::waves to Lobsang ::

I have punchcard from just about every bagel and coffee place in the city. The unfortunate thing is it never seems to get full before they tell me that they are no longer using that system, but I would be welcome to start a new card. One of these days I feel that I am actually going to get something for free, but I don’t know when.

If Subway stamps count, then I get a free sub about once a month (I go on double stamp days).

Yves Rocher has punch cards?? I always order from them by email or snail mail; I didn’t know there was some other option. Gad, the way I buy stuff from that company, I’d have had dozens of fully punched cards by now.

How do you get one?

Another who misinterpreted what ‘punch card’ meant. And I don’t even program! The common term around here for them is stamp card. Some shops call it a ‘stamp rally’, but I’ve never been able to get quite that excited over them.

I have one for Subway, one for Sunday Sun restaurants, and one for Post Hobby that I completely forgot about.

If Subway stamps count, I have one of those. Otherwise, nothing.

Count me in with the lot who think punch cards are those old school programming methods. But that’s mostly because I never really thought about what they call those little cards…

I was thinking, “Oh yeah? Maybe a punch card that works like a dog tag and doubles as bling?”

(working late == strange mental pathways)

I bought something at Hot Topic a couple of years ago, and they gave me one. That’s the only one I have, but I’ve never been back. If I could use it to get a cute goth chick when it was full of punches, I’d be hangin’ out there every day buyin’ stuff.

But my wife wouldn’t approve.

I have one to Torrid (fat chick’s hot topic) that I never use.

I have one for Tokyo Joe’s and one for Noodle’s and Co. Tokyo Joe’s is half full, and Noodle’s and Co is getting close to full.

*Tokyo Joe’s is a Colorado Based company with delicious rice bowls, sushi, and so forth, healthy and cheap, and they let me get double vegetables. They introduced me to brown rice. Mmm Spicy-aki…

Marble Slab Creamery, baby. I actually keep track of that one (otherwise I’ve never kept one until it was full) because I leave it in the pocket of my workout jacket and hit it after I hit the gym.
