I read that the average American owns 25 t-shirts. Seems low.
How many t-shirts do you have? Don’t count anything with buttons. I suppose we can count long sleeve t-shirts, as they seem pretty popular nowadays.
I have 78.

I threw out three garbage bags full when I moved into my new apartment.
I’d put the current figure at 22ish; I’m moving my wardrobe over to collared shirts I can roll the sleeves up on, those thin sweatery things that Gap and Structure like so much, and polos.
About 100 t-shirts in my collection, mostly from restaurants and the like from out-of-town trips. Another dozen or so “toss-ons,” older, some permanently stained just if I want to put something on to go the store.
 I had no idea I was so far behind in the T-shirt race. I have maybe 20-30, tops, and I only regularly wear maybe half of those.
Ten t-shirts out of about fifty shirts, maybe?
I own perhaps 20 t-shirts - all with the sleeves cut off, and I wear them to the gym when I work out. Most are concert tees!
I used to own about 150 that I had collected from my teens years but most I never wore because I began to refuse to advertise for other people. I donated those ones and am now down to about 20. 12 or so that I wear and the rest I have for sentimental reasons.
I probably have around 30. Most of them I don’t wear. I am a SAHM, so when I do laundry, I just re-wear the same ones I wore the week before.
I have about 22 but then I’m not American so I won’t help your poll much.
Foreign t-shirt counts are welcome. Please do not report your count in metric, though. Kindly convert it to English.
D’ja sit down and count them, or do you keep a running total in your head?
I think I have 20-30 but wear the same 5 over and over. Make that 21-31, I caught one at the hockey game the other night.
I counted them. I was very bored last night.
Probably about 40 here. I try to pitch out a few on a regular basis. The trick to storing them is to put them in the drawer at a slant, so you can have maybe 20 shirts in one row across the drawer.
25 at the most with maybe 5 in actual regular use: gym, volleyball, yard-work, etc.
I, generally speaking, am not a t-shirt guy when going out in public. I wear them to the gym, other athletic activities, and slobbing around the house or cleaning. I do not wear them out.

As of a couple years ago, I had about 50 t-shirts. Got rid of a bunch of old ones to save space, so I am sitting on maybe 10 now.
For the record, my brother-in-law won a bet with a friend by wearing a different t-shirt every day for a year, never repeating the same shirt. He has about 400.
Maybe 15. I only wear tshirts made for women, and not those teeny babyTs, so my selection is limited.
Zero.
From what I read here, it must be a sort of collectors item in the USA

As an aside: All but one of my tees are black. That one is bright blue, and says, “All of my other t-shirts are black.”
I’d say I own about fifty and counting…
I did the same thing a few weeks ago. :o I counted 72 t-shirts, which surprised me (as did the 30-odd pairs of pants which have somehow congregated in my house).
I only wear about 10 of these 72 with any regularity.
