The drinking game that night was every time Elwood said the word, “rollin’”
According to the excellent article posted by madsircool above:
Willy Hall must have played on at least one song that I know, because I remember Jake saying “Willy Too Big Hall” when acknowledging his band in some song. Maybe he says it in the movie.
Or, more likely, Bob did some creative math of his own.
“Lessee, Jake had one, two, six, fifteen, fifty beers. Elwood had only thirty – lightweight…”
What’s the band going to do, collect and count all the empties?
Also, don’t forget that they didn’t get charged for their first round. Assuming that was true for the whole band and not just Jake and Elwood, add 10 free ones to whatever number they drank that they’re paying for.
Indiana; the script has Elwood saying they’re glad to be in Kokomo while introducing the band.
10 beers in a night? My friends and I call that a ‘Wednesday’.
Not a ‘Friday’ or a ‘Saturday’ because those days we drink a lot more beer.
I will say that a bar like that back then a bottle could’ve been a $1, 20 beers a piece is a more reasonable number.
