Just curious. Lets say you have a very conservation minded doctor who took his patients liposuctioned fat and turned it into bio-diesel. What’s the lbs of fat to gallons of bio-diesel yield ratio?
I’d say about half.
First, you must render it…essentially, cooking the fat until the oil separates from the water and connective tissue.
Then, you must mix in anhydrous (dehydrated?) methanol, and dry lye…any water, and you end up making soap. The amount of methanol and lye depends on the amount and Ph of the oil.
Mix for an hour, then let sit for another hour.
Gross.
A doc that actually did it (allegedly).
