There is a form of therapy that involves physical exercises called nerve flossing or nerve gliding, which involve body movements to ensure that a nerve can move within various channels and doesn’t get stuck to any nearby tissues.
I’ve heard nerves can stretch to about 110% of their regular length, after that they get injured. Does anyone know if that is true or not? How much can you stretch a nerve before it gets injured?
Also, do nerves actually glide within your body? Do body movements actually move the nerve along its path? If so, by how much? Does a nerve only move by a millimeter during nerve gliding exercises, or can it glide by inches?
