How much $$ dicount for dings on used car?

I’m selling my 2001 Olds Alero. Blue book value in “fair” condition is $5,100.

I consider the condition “fair” because there are little dings in 4 places, and one big ding in the front from a fender bender. I live in Los Angeles and didn’t fix it since I figured more were on the way (and I couldn’t afford it at the time). Other than that, the cd player doesn’t play cds and the two front windows are scratched (somehow got gravel down there). Other than that, it’s fine and in perfect running condition with about 85k miles and brand new tires.

I’ve seen people online selling their non-dinged Aleros for $5k to $6k. Personally, I don’t want to spend my time haggling with people and am willing to sell at a discount to just get rid of it, but I don’t want to give the thing away. I was thinking $4k. Your thoughts?

Thank you!

I think $4000 or even a few hundred more sounds very fair, as long as the upholstery and tires are in very good condition.

Cool . . . thanks Alice the Goon
