My cousin is a hair dresser and she did my hair the last time. She has to charge a certain amount for the cut to pay the salon, and the rest she gets to keep. Naturally, she gave me a better price than her other clients. I didn’t tip her…not because I didn’t want to, but I thought she’d be offended AS my cousin. It was very awkward in that respect.
But I’d recommend her to anyone in a heartbeat. She did a great job, and her side of the family is very fashion oriented.

Mine charges more every year. Used to be about $7 is now $18 for the same thing…But I tip the same.
According to tipping.org,for one operator 15%, for several operators 10%of bill to person who sets hair; 10% divided among others.
