Good. But it seems to be a rare occurrence.
What excuse would a scrap metal dealer have for buying manhole covers?
“Gee officer, I thought that scruffy guy with the needle tracks and a dozen manhole covers to sell was legit.”

My cousin and best friend had her car stolen. The police found it minus two wheels and the CC. Interior trashed/vandalized. She got it all repaired. She got the ‘Club’ for the steering wheel.
The CC was stolen again.
Got it repaired.
Then they just took the car AGAIN. I suspect they cut through the steering wheel to get the ‘club’ off. Car was not recovered.
She has a GPS tracking device on her new car.
Car theft is a misdemeanor in Denver. That blew me away. It totally screwed up my cousins life and cost her thousands.
Only if the car was worth less than $2,000.
Or that’s how it was, a couple months ago, it was changed to be a felony for all car thefts.
I donno. That’s just what my cousin told me. Car was probably borderline $2000. She had had it for years and loved it. It was perfect for her.
Fuckers.
I hope it was changed to felony for ALL car thefts. Seriously, you are really screwing up someone’s life by doing that. It cost her a great deal in time and money to be able to get to work while she sorted the mess out. I gave her 5k to help get a new car.
They used to hang horse thieves. Maybe we could get that going again.
I suppose, but stealing horses isn’t the problem it used to be.
Which just goes to show how well the solution worked! ![]()
I dunno, we had a few of them this year in Dallas. The most recent one turned out pretty tragic.
It’s kinda hard to steal the horse from a horseless carriage. But low-lifes seem to keep trying.
