Well my car got fucking broken into the other night, 400$ worth of my stereo equipment gone, some fucking asshole is out there with 400$ worth of car audio, all because they are too fucking lazy to get a job and actually pay for something, I will admit stealing is easier, but FUCK easy, life isn’t always easy so suck it up and stop fucking stealing.
Not to mention, 2 of my bosses had their cars broken into in the last year in the same spot
The amazing thing about this is that we work at a movie theater, so somehow in the middle of 100 fucking cars, they managed to break in and steal all my shit. FUCK THEM.
FUCK.
Also the police are fucking worthless, I didn’t want to call them but my boss did it anyway, so basically they ask you what is missing, give you a case number and the officer that talked to me LITERALLY said “Well I doubt we will find anything but we will give you a call if we do” thanks, that’s real fucking assuring.
So I’m out 400$ worth of my car audio… FUCK THIEF’S. If I ever find out who did it I will go fucking insane, they are worthless, if you seriously can’t suck it up and get a fucking job to buy your own shit, then go shoot your fucking self so no one else has to suffer for your fucking stupidity.
*Two other people *got their cars broken into on the same spot and you didn’t get any kind of anti-theft device (e.g., a front panel that pops off your stereo)? It doesn’t justify the crime, obviously, and I’m sorry to hear it, but c’mon.
Also, if someone is specifically going after the cars of people who work in the theater (two of your bosses and you, no customers?), this may be about more than the items themselves–it could be somebody’s idea of revenge.
Some businesses require employees to park in specific areas(usually out of the way) to allow customers to get the good spots. Less chance of the thieves being interrupted while “at work” as the employees are at work and not likely to show up unexpectedly.
A case number gives the police something to follow up on if/when they find it (eg, busting someone trying to sell 100 stolen audio systems). They would contact you to come and claim your property when they got all the goods in one place. About once a year the local police find garages full of stolen goods and have the stuff on display for a few days for theft victims to come and get their property. Not much help in the short term, but eventually stolen items find their way home.
Gretsch Chet Atkins Country Gentleman guitar (the one with the embossed sound holes, gold plating, and worth a few thousand dollars now)
Wingmaster 870 shotgun
One of the very first Aria acoustic 12 string guitars (back when they were very good quality)
Marlin 336C rifle
brand new color TV
and from the car, later on, a brand new stereo.
Even with the make, model and serial number, NONE of it came back. When I saw my guitars in a local pawn shop and called the police, they still didn’t do a damn thing.
So, the odds of getting anything back, at least in my experience, are pretty dismal.
The most hurtful theft in our family was some scumbag who kicked my parent’s back door in and found in my mom’s jewelry box a gold medal my grandfather had won in a swimming competition. Totally irreplaceable bit of history, now gone forever.
Just in case you were wondering what happened to your stuff:
Sadly, was sold to a redneck and is now sitting in his trailer acting as a clothes rack to stinky underwear.
Used in abortive holdup by drug addled morons; currently residing at bottom of river.
Good story here - it was bought by a young up and coming guitar player who will one day win a Grammy award.
In the hands of a collector; well looked after.
Only worked for a couple of more months; currently in landfill
Sold for $15 for drugs; the purchaser tried to self- install it in his Camero, but ended up yanking the wires out of the back and wrecked it. He also wrecked his Camero 2 months after that, so karma was served.
Any sort of anti theft device that will do any good is 300-400$, A car alarm? everyone just wants it shut off no body goes running outside yelling “GET AWAY FROM THAT CAR!!!”
My stereo did have a removable face plate but that was only a part of what they stole.
The 2 managers were in the same spot, but the first manager was around a year ago when it happened, and the other about 2 months.
A few months ago about 5 cars(customers) had their cars broken into in one night.
And yeah were supposed to park around the side of the building(not many cars usually) but obviously now I’m not going to follow that rule.
Sorry to hear that man, I think what makes me mad is more that we worked for these items and we bought them whereas the thief’s just take them, very little work required.
I know it’s no consolation, but the the persons who took your stereo and SteveG1’s stuff are not likely kicking back listening to music on their nice new stereo or watching TV/playing guitar. It is far more likely that they are shivering under a bridge coming down from a high, or staying in a homeless shelter, or they’ve just been kicked out by their roommate, or they’ve just been discharged from a hospital after being assaulted, or they’re in jail or they’re dead.
In short; Your life is good. Enjoy it. The thieves life is currently or soon will be very shitty.
I wish the fucking assholes would have just stolen my stereo.
Instead they took my whole fucking truck right out of my own driveway.
It was recovered three days later but only because they hit another car with it and bailed. The damage totaled it.
I think that was one of the strangest feelings to walk out in the morning to let your dogs out and they go trotting across the driveway. Then it hits you that they should not have been able to do that because they should have smacked their faces into my truck but it is not there.
I walked down the deck and looked down the driveway thinking it rolled away.
Sorry for your loss. Although filing a police report isn’t likely to get your stuff back, think of it as a public service: if enough police reports are filed about enough crimes in a given area, at some point the well-documented crime rate will spur official action that will benefit the wider public. Bait cars, increased police surveillance, that sort of thing.
We were burgled years ago and they got my husband’s knife collection, one item being the knife he carried in Vietnam and one being a gift from his now-deceased nephew. It’s a bitch, fer sure.
