How much do you know about your CEO?

We changed CEOs a couple years ago. I know what he looks like, and the city/state he works in (our home office). He’s in a different area of the country than I am. It’s not like I could go knocking on the guy’s door, but I’d recognize the devil if he came knocking at mine.

Anyway, he’s been actively selling off *massive *parts of the company. Some very good workers (including a couple of my office buddies) have been personally affected by office closures, changes in hours of operation, layoffs, and outsourcing. My department’s head has been on the chopping block multiple times. Fortunately, I’ve managed to hold on so far. I also receive company-wide emails from “him” occasionally, that are certainly composed by his executive assistant and whitewashed by the PR guy. No CEO of ours would be stupid enough to address anything inflammatory directly to his employees. But then, insurance companies are held to much higher ethical and legal standards than timeshare crooks.

Don’t even know his name…

I’m like the OP. My top boss was the governor of New York. If I wanted to keep an eye on what he was up to, I just had to check the news.
