Verizon Fios (15MPS) $80.00 (bundled with landline so about $50.00 w/out)
DirecTV approx $100 (includes Cinemax, Showtime and Distant Network Feeds and HD DVR)
$170/month for bundled home phone/cable/internet. Cable includes extended basic HD cable (includes music and on-demand channels) + tennis channel + 2 DVRs. Signed a 2 year deal so I can’t switch until April 2013.
You lie!
I get cable, low speed internet (about 1Mb/sec, but I don’t download movies) and phone for about $120/month. The phone company is installing fiber all over and is trying to get me back, but they are such fuckups. They still have no idea why I left. And don’t seem to care. I don’t know how many channels I get but many more than I would ever look at.
I pay nearly $65 a month for internet through Comcast (just a smidge beyond the bare basics, but no premium channels, like HBO or whatever), and nearly $40 for internet through Verizon. I’ve been gradually cutting back watching the TV so I can justify dropping cable completely (and if it wasn’t for HGTV, then I’d have done it long ago). I’m thinking within the next billing cycle, cable is going. I’m online most of the time anyway.
We dropped our landline phones years ago and never looked back. We’re completely cell phones now.
