How much do you spend per person per meal at home?

Per Meal? Can’t be much more than a buck. And we eat very well. I tend to make a lot of soups and stews. If for no other reason than that’s what we like, and it’s very easy to heat up for dinner during the week.

For this week I’ll make a simple chili. A lb. of ground beef, beans, some vegies…

I haven’t a clue. Trying to figure it out, I am officially giving up. My eggs I ate for breakfast came from our hens. Zero cost? No, we buy them feed, along with cracked corn and treats. We support the birds post-menopause and they are as much pets as livestock. The eggs are tasty, but expensive. And that’s just breakfast.

I would say 3-5$ per person per meal for dinner is typical, about half of this for lunches and breakfasts. Every now and again we throw in meals that are 10-20$ per person per meal so the average is probably 5-6$.

Two people; around $4 each per day. We’re both really cheap on breakfast and lunch but we do like some kind of meat or fish at dinner.

Didn’t know you had a baby, congratulations!

It’s probably around $10 a meal because we end up with a lot of leftovers that don’t get eaten. That’s for dinner though, lunch and breakfast will be much less, easily under $5 a meal, or $0 when we actually eat the leftovers.

Oh, thanks! I’m not entirely sure I’ve even mentioned it before. It’s been almost seven months of this new lifestyle, but I’ve managed to get my Doping time in.
