How much is "a lot of money"? (USD)

I agree - more context would be helpful.

Jimmy Choos cost “a lot of money.” Shoes from Target don’t.

But, although Jimmy Choos are cheaper than my 2005 Toyota Corolla, I didn’t think my Toyota Corolla cost a lot of money when I bought it.

Yes, obviously the lack of context is an issue. This question was prompted by this statement:

in the “Could you get $2000 of emergency funds in 30 days?” thread. My immediate reaction was “no, $2000 is not ‘a lot of money’,” but I was curious what others thought. Sorry I didn’t mention that in the post.

You’re a straight male with zero homosexual tendencies. “A lot of money” is the amount that would persuade you to perform fellatio until completion.

If someone else wants to start the new poll, then feel free.

I don’t think they’ve printed it yet.

I have to ask. Is anal the same price or more?

I wear a TAG Heuer watch that retails for a little over $2,000. I happen to see it in a store while I was on vacation and I liked it. But I also spent about 30 minutes debating whether I REALLY wanted to buy it. I also don’t generally buy a lot of crap I don’t need or use. I’d say $1500 is about the point where I actually start to examine if I really want to make that purchase.
