How much would a private bowling alley cost?

I’m talking two lanes, ball return, pin setter, etc. (Basically the minimum you could get away with. No need for the cutesy graphic scoring computer and all that jazz)

Is it so out of reach costwise that only the filthy rich can finance something like this?

I looked on the net, but I could not find any prices and did not want to send an email for a quote to a lane construction company that I had no intention of buying anything from. So, I was hoping that the board would have somebody that has experience in this industry and nothing better to do with their time than answer my post. :stuck_out_tongue:

My WAG on the cost of the set-up described above is around $25,000 to $30,000, so I figured if I was in the ball park, that the average upper middle class person could add that into a mortgage loan and swing the cost that way.

Anyway, just found myself bored and curious.

Used stuff, eight to ten thousand.
$2000 for used pinsetters / pinspotters.
$2000 for used wood lanes.
$2000 for used autoscoring equipment.
Figure $3000-4000 for used gutters, caps, masks, pins, return tracks, etc.
An old bug sprayer can be used to oil you lanes or you can invest in a Kegel Sanction Standard Elite
That’s if you can install it yourself. Prices are estimates. Ebay and bowling classifieds can yield comparable prices with due diligence.
Install would include electrical service, lane and scoring labor, and engineer certification that your roof will support any overhead monitors. Oh, and you’ll need a building roughly 15’ X 100’.Market prices will vary for these services.
