How Negotiable are Prison "Terms and Conditions"

Disclaimer: I am not going, never have been to prison and not planning any crime, just a curious question.

Something I have always wondered about.

Lets say that I am some kind of a big wheel rich person who commits some not trivial white collar crime. No murder or physical harm, but bad, say fraud. Think more Martha Stewart than Bernie Madoff

Lets also assume that I have a little leverage to the prosecution, naming co-conspirators, hidden monies, state secrets, whatever along with lots of money. What kind of prison conditions could an affluent individual with a great law team negotiate outside of lighter sentence or being found not guilty? With my leverage and my proposal to offer a guilty plea, what kind of creature comforts could a prisoner get in a minimum or even medium security prison?

Could I get a cell to myself?
Could I get a TV in my cell with Blu Rays and/or Sat?
Could I get a game console?
Could I get a PC (internet is out I am sure)
Could I get out of making license plates, kitchen patrol, laundry or any work?

What are the limits of my leverage? Is there any scenario where I could just get a PS3 with a ton of games and movies and say come get me when my 5-10 is up? :dubious:

I think it’s more likely that you’d negotiate for house arrest instead of a minimum or medium-security prison.

But that was not the question

Obviously if we must throw logic into the mix, I am trying to buy my way to freedom… BUT if the scenario were such that I had to do prison time (call it political reasons, its an election year) and I am DEFINITELY doing time in a min/med facility.

Then under those circumstances, what creature comforts could I bargain for?

Plea bargains do NOT include internal allowances as mentioned. Am I saying it has never happened behind closed doors, no! However, any “special” treatment inside will be noticed by other inmates and likely to be challenged.
