Ha, word. Try New Amsterdam instead, clean with light botanicals at half the price of Sapphire.
That fool of an OP did, indeed, forget the “less often” option.
I drink alcohol more or less once every three years, and then it’s something like “a glass of cider”.
I once had an interview with a well-known company in the drinks business - I think that answering “I like your barbecue sauce, can’t give an opinion about the rest” when they asked how did I like their product line didn’t endear me to them :(.
I find drunk people extremely tiresome and annoying. And I find it especially annoying if it’s someone whom I know and like when he or she is sober.
I might be wrong, but I think BrknButterfly is saying that being around other people who are drunk isn’t fun. That’s how I feel.
i’m pretty much a wine/beer type, altho on occasion, i’ll indulge in some 12-year-old macallan (alas, the 18 and older is beyond my pay grade ). that’s a rare treat, however.
red wine is good for your heart and blood in moderation, so, if i’m in the mood for it, i generally have a glass or two 3 to 5 times a week. oddly enough, most of this week and last, i haven’t touched a drop of anything. hmm; need to rectify that… :dubious:
white wine, which is my true taste preference, isn’t quite as good for you, but i tend to drink it fairly exclusively during the warm months, then switch to reds when it starts turning colder.
I’d say quarterly - once every three months or so.
Quit a few years ago for several reasons, haven’t missed it a bit.
I voted ‘once per month’, though it is actually less than that. On average, however, it may be close to once a month because I will drink 3 days in a row and then abstain for 3 months. I am currently abstaining for the month of August, but I’m looking forward to having a beer or two in September.

Personally, I don’t find the beginnings of being drunk fun, either (I’ve never been further than that). I’ve got some sort of neurological problem going on (the neurologist’s diagnosis: “some people, when they’re stressed they get colds; some get ulcers; you, your parasympathic nervous system freaks out” - wheeeee!) and when I described the symptoms to my mother in detail, she said “ but… wait a minute… that’s exactly how I feel when I’ve had a couple…” “and how I feel when I’ve had a couple, too, which is why I don’t like it: you feel like ‘how nice, the world is swimming’, I feel like ‘ohnoes the world is swimming I’m about to start having the shakes stop the car breathe slowly ohshit ohshit ohshit’”.
That conversation was what finally stopped her from offering me wine several times during the meal any time she was having some - after some 20 years of “no, thanks Mom, I already said no”.
And since I also happen to be able to watch The Wall or read the Illuminatus trilogy while sober (something which my less-sober friends have declared feats of amazing proportion and proof that my brain is wired weird), there doesn’t seem to be a need for me to achieve altered states. I appear to be permanently altered.

Well I chose once per month but it’s actually more like once or twice a year.
This is pretty much my case also. Honestly, I don’t recall the last time I had something alcoholic to drink, even to help me sleep. It seems as I’ve gotten older, I just don’t enjoy it as I used to, and I never drank that much in the first place.
You missed the option for “when I feel like it”.
I have a beer every day after work and usually another with dinner. A couple times a year I want a scotch.
I love beer! I like cooking with it. I like that my beer preference changes with the weather. I like going to the grocery store and grabbing something new at random.
misty eyed I kind of want to hug the next beer I see.
Although I said I drink daily, I’m working on increasing the amount of alcohol I consume. I’ve heard speculation that Amy Winehouse’s death was due to her not drinking. No way do I want to end things that way.

That’s the spirit!
Drinks are rare for me now that I am on a medication that says “do not combine with alcohol”. A few years ago though, I would have said 2-3 days a week as in having a beer or glass of wine with dinner or social drinking.
