How or who can I reach about getting background info to for a movie?

I have some historical background information for a screenplay that The Weinstein Co. has recently acquired from “Argo” screenwriter Chris Terrio. It is titled “The Ends of the Earth.” Jennifer Lawrence is set to play the main character. Who, if anyone, should I try to contact on this matter and how should I go about accomplishing this? I think it may help with the storyline. Thanks!

Since you asked “who, if anyone…” I’ll venture an educated guess, unless you have some tie to the industry no one will give you the time of day. There are many reasons for that but the two big ones are they probably won’t care and they won’t risk you coming after them for money for using your ideas.

It’s a very tough industry to break into for anything. I’d suggest working google. There are agents and representatives available if you do your homework.

Lots of luck.

I’d go to IMDB.com and do some research, find agents, representatives, etc. Maybe you’ll find one who will talk to you.

If you’re trying to sell them a script or a script re-write, you may wish to consider trying to get an agent or a lawyer to make sure you don’t wind up handing them something for free.
