I think Gibbons should be discounted for better reasons than his paid position. He claimed that Worm “disavowed” his 2006 paper–strong language that Worm denied. The nonsense regarding PCB consumption was frankly insulting. I can’t read that as anything but intentionally misleading.

I agree. He had my attention until the PCB “statistics”. After first reading it, I was confused. It was the kind of garbage that makes you think you’ve read something wrong. After reading it again it was apparent that unrelated statistics were being used in a misleading way. A sure sign of bias in my book.
